Cyberlaw dictionary is an alphabetical reference guide to technical and legal terms related to the Internet. The site you are now browsing contains over 500 definitions of words drawn from Standard Internet English including technical terms and their meanings. Our aim is to explain basic technical jargon of cyberspace to those who are not familiar with its jargon. Escape key

a keyboard key usually labeled Esc. In the Windows environment, pressing the Escape key sometimes ends the present function and returns the user to the previous function. The term sometimes is used here because at other times, pressing Esc does absolutely nothing. This usually means more dramatic measures must be taken to end the function. see Special Key Functions.
